A Short Poem…sorta

The Puppy

by Abby Rose
The puppy looked around with a wag of his tail,

seeing no one he whimpered.

Trying not to cry the small puppy

lay down on the hard, cold ground.

With a lift of his head he heard a quiet, sad sound,

looking around he noticed a little boy crying.

Going over, the puppy put his head on the boy’s knee,

wagging his tail slightly, the puppy licked the boy’s face.

With a small giggle, the boy tugged on the puppy’s ear,

“that hurts” the little puppy thought.

The puppy looked into the boy’s face and saw the joy,

“I can live with a little pain” the puppy thought to himself.

Wagging his tail, the puppy licked the boy’s face again and again,

happy inside, knowing he filled someone with joy.

Sorry if that was cheesy I wrote it a few years ago for a school project. Anyways I just thought it was kinda cute and wanted to share it with you all! Below is a picture that I think kinda goes with the poem (minus the other dog).

Guest Interview

Hey guys! Today I want to introduce to you an extraordinary friend of mine! She is very excited to meet you all!!! So let’s get started!!

My questions are in bold!

Can you tell us a little about yourself? Nicknames, age, about your parents/family…you know the basics!

Hi! Thanks for letting do this fun little interview with ya’ll! Nicknames: noisy, loud, obnoxious, bossy (to name a few…don’t worry I’m not at all offended by those nicknames). I think my favorite is bossy! I’m incredibly bossy. It’s one of my downfalls! Age: I’m six. I was born on October 10th, 2012! Parents/family: I’m adopted. I was about 3 months old when my adoptive parents came to pick me up. My real mom didn’t want me to go, but she knew it was for the best…I miss her, but I love my new family.

Hobbies? I love running around outside with dad. He lets me tag along with him. He’s the BEST! My adoptive siblings are also pretty cool! I have three older sisters and an older brother (they are really sweet and mostly patient with me and my antics). I also love hanging out with my best friend Sophie…she loves tagging along with me when we go on adventures!

Favorite movie? Definitely “Homeward Bound” it’s incredible!

Favorite games? “Sequence Dogs Game” its soooooo fun! I also love playing Monopoly, Apples to Apples, and Sorry (mostly I just step on the pieces, so my siblings get annoyed!

Favorite Food? Chicken, beef, fish, bananas, peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti, breadsticks, soup, everything is good (though I’m allergic to gluten)!

Do you play any instruments? I play the radio (that’s what my dad says). I’m not a great musician, though I do sing…though according to my family I make an annoying noise!

Do you have any favorite books? Go Dog Go is fun!

Well, thanks for letting me interview you! It was fun! Thanks! I really enjoyed being here! I want to thank you for allowing me a minute to share about myself!

So know your probably all wondering who I was interviewing! Well, it’s…

My best friend Tirzah! Sorry if I made any of you worried or you get offended…because to be honest, this whole post is real. It’s just from a dog’s eyes and not humans!

A little about Tirzah: Her nicknames come from her being a pure-bred English Shepherd. She is extremely protective of her little masters aka her siblings.  She’s fought off a bear, raccoons, weasels, possums, bobcats, and a porcupine (didn’t go over well). Either way, she has proven over and over that she would take out any threat against us, including UPS and FedEx workers…poor men. We got her to protect our goats from coyotes, but we sold them right after we got her. Now her jobs are to: tell us if anyone is here (and if a ladybug hiccups…she loves barking), she keeps us safe if we have to be home alone, she chases the bobcats away from our chickens, and many more things. She is very bossy and stubborn but is a sweetie! I love her so much, and I count her as my best friend (mostly cause she keeps my secrets secret).  Funny story: Tirzah ran away from her dogsitter when we were on vacation once. He looked everywhere for her and was so afraid something would happen…he jumped in his car and drove all the way to our house (2 miles away), and there he found her panting beside our front door. So the fun fact Tirzah has is she doesn’t run away EVER!

Thanks for reading! See you soon!

Honey-Butter Breakfast Muffins/Random fun post!

As I mentioned before I like making small snacks for the people at my church. Yesterday I made these, because I wanted to try something new!

Anyways let’s get started!

Streuseled Honey-Butter Breakfast Muffins

Makes around 10 (unless your using a smaller tin)

Recipe (for the muffin batter):

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 cup whole milk, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1/4 cup honey

Recipe (for the streusel):

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, softened

  • To make the streusel place all the ingredients in a small bowl. With your fingers mix together until a crumb-like texture occurs. Set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare a muffin with cooking spray. You could use paper liners if you chose.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. In a smaller combine egg, whole milk, butter, and honey. Gently mix in wet ingredients with the dry ones.
  • Fill muffin tins 3/4 of the way full. Sprinkle each cup with streusel and bake for 18 – 20 minutes (though depends on the size of your muffin tins) or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Place pan on a wire rack for about 10 minutes to cool. Remove each muffin individually with a fork or butter knife inserted around the edge. Serve warm if you can and with extra honey.

So yummy!!!

Anyways also this past weekend I made some popsicle stick crafts…yes I’m weird. I just was finishing up a bird house and the Ipod died…SAVE ME (we lost the charger for it)!!

Also, my mom is a Sunday School teacher and she was teaching her class about Joseph’s colorful coat so she was using Trader Joes bags to make fun coats!! ………………………but Dewey didn’t want mom to do anything but pay attention to him so he laid down on her craft and glared at everyone!

Cats they’re so weird!!

Sister pictures!

Today I wanted to share with you some pictures of my sisters and me! Another random fact about myself is I have a sister who looks a lot like me (or maybe I look a lot like her) either way let’s get started!

She wanted some new pictures for her blog so we both went out and I snapped some pictures of her and she snapped some of me! YAY!

Her cute kitty Cuddles!

img_2273This pic might be blurred but I’ll always remember the reason for her expression…I’m so blessed to have such an amazing big sis! Love ya ❤

On the way back to the house we ran into……………………………………….an iceberg!img_2427img_2412

No, it was actually Beka and a HUGE icicle that she had gotten off our hose! What a sweet little sister I have (even if she’s a pickle)! Love ya ❤

Well on a scale from 1 – 10 would you say my older sister and I could pass for twins? In the pictures above we don’t really look alike well in the picture below, we may look silly and our hair is really messy but I really do think we look alike!img_1167

  • See you all soon!

Some Fun Random Facts!

Hi Guys! Call me a copy-cat but I recently saw a post about someone’s random facts about their life and I just HAD to post a few random facts about myself (because who doesn’t like to talk about random things)!!!?? Let’s get started!

1. I LOVE dogs!!!! You might get annoyed about how many photos I take of Tirzah but you’ll have to accept the fact I ADORE my dog! I also respect cat’s though I don’t think they are very nice (cause come on they just glare at you all the time and don’t like when you touch them)!

2. I don’t like artificial smells…candles, perfumes, hand creams, etc… I get super annoyed when my family uses hand cream in the car. It’s like I’m trapped in a tiny room that smells awful, going down the road at 50 miles an hour with trees flying past…yuck!

3. I really like milk chocolate!! I LOVE milk chocolate with rice krispies in it!!! Don’t mention white chocolate to me…or you might have to deal with the wrath of Tirzah (jk)!!!!! Dark chocolate’s okay…sometimes.

4. I don’t make my bed in the morning’s. I make it before I go to bed…my reason????????????????? I have no idea!

5. I love singing! I’m currently in a choir as an Alto ‘starts crying’. I’m a soprano at heart! I’m just a more powerful singer and my choir teacher wanted me to be toned down to match others…sadly.

6. I get annoyed with people humming and tapping…please tell me the reason why people do it??? WHYYYYY?? I just don’t understand! Some humming is okay, it has to be quiet and gentle and be a song. When it’s loud and for no reason it bugs me to death!

Well that’s my quick random facts about me!

Below are three photos of the snow we just had! It’s awesome!!!

(Also sorry about the typos in this post!)

What do you think? Am I just weird about my chocolate choices? What’s your favorite animal?

What do you usually do on a snowy day??? Well my little sister and her best friend were up to their antics again and here is a VERY VERY PAINFUL picture of us doing the last pose but instead of two people, it’s three people!!! AHHHH!!!!

That’s me on the bottom, my little sister in between, and then Camryn on the top! You HAVE to try this with your siblings!!

Sorry about the short post I just wanted you guys to see us being…us!

-Enjoy the snow!

Happy 2019!

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope all of you had a wonderful time staying up till midnight to usher in a new year!

What are some New Year resolutions you’ve decided to do?

Mine: …..not sure yet! I guess I just want to:
1. Try to be a better sibling and daughter.
2. Try not to be a drill sergeant.
3. Work on my piano and choir songs more often!
4. I’m not sure but I just don’t like ending on uneven numbers!

We asked my grandfather what great wisdom he would like to share with the family and he said:
“Don’t eat the spaghetti”.

Anyways Happy New Year everyone!!

See you soon!
