Trip, Retreat, Puppies, and Stitches!

Hey guys! Sorry about the late post! A few weeks ago I mentioned I went on a trip…because I didn’t bring my camera everywhere my dad ended up taking most of the pictures (thanks dad)…so here we go!

Dad’s pictures

My pictures:

Also on that trip, we “taught” Winnie how to swim. Here’s a video I posted about that!

Update on Winnie: Soooo I just went on a youth retreat and guess what?! My little girl ripped two stitches so we’re going to get them checked soon…but keep her in your prayers that it won’t cost too much!

Also, school started up! Here’s my first day of school picture from that.

And speaking of the retreat…I was asked to lead songs…it went pretty well, I think! I have a few pictures from it to share! I didn’t bring any camera so I didn’t take pictures but we played a fun icebreaker game (that I don’t have a picture of) but it involved EVERYONE getting on a sheet and flipping the sheet over without anyone touching the floor. Guys, let me tell you it was so awkward…….(yeah let’s not repeat the story of that)!

Anyways, I think that summed up my life in the past few weeks!

See you guys soon!

Riding lessons photo-shoot/Winnie update!

Hey guys! So today I’m sharing a photo-shoot of sorts from my sister’s horseback riding lesson. The horse they were riding is named Blaze and he’s about 22 years old so it was easy to take pictures of him!

But first off…….on Thursday Winnie had her operation done to her back dewclaws and she was chipped. She’s being so good at not chewing on her wraps but we did get her the “cone of shame” for the times we aren’t around to keep an eye on her. She’s had a bit of trouble sleeping so she’s been staying with me in my bed…..meaning about 4 hours of sleep for me. But it’s totally worth it!

Okay and now the horse photo-shoot! I’m going to start with the B&W pictures I took!

Next up is the ones that have filters:

Now just some photos without any filters:

Also just a note…I’m going to be posting just on Saturdays for now on. Wednesday’s are just WAY to busy for me to be around to moderate comments. Anyways, guys, I’ll see you next time!

Beloved & Freedom – Blog Tour

Hey guys! So Faith & Kaitlyn are doing this great blog tour! Enjoy reading about these books!

The first book is Freedom by Faith Potts

freedom

Having just returned to American soil from the desert sands of the Middle East, James Greene is done with his life. ‘Double amputee’ doesn’t seem like a strong enough phrase to label the physical and emotional pain he bears. Add the lack of love and communication with his family members, the demons that haunt him day and night, and he can find nothing worth living for. Ending it all is the only way out.

Alexandria Lorance is a not-so-ordinary physical therapist, content with aiding in her patients’ recoveries. Her work gives her fulfillment, but alone in the silence, she still endures the hidden scars of a past, unhealthy relationship. Reminding herself that true healing is found in Christ alone, she seeks to show kindness and love to everyone she meets.

When these two broken ones’ paths intersect, the spark of friendship is ignited, bringing hope and joy to both. Can they step out of the darkness of suffering and into the freedom of grace?

A Marine, broken by war. A therapist, scarred by words. A chance meeting in a parking lot bonded them together. But can love grow in these two hurting hearts? Or are they truly too broken to ever find lasting happiness?

My review:

The book was super fun to read and caused me to want to cry in certain parts because of how emotional some of the characters got! I would recommend it for readers 13 and up as it would get a little intense and did involve emotional soldier scenes and many of the characters talked about suicide.

My rating? 4 stars…the writing was awesome and I felt like the main characters really connect some of our day to day feelings.

In the end, I really suggest you read the book though I recommened it for teens and up as there is many references of suicide.

The next book is Beloved by Kaitlyn Krispense

beloved

Life without love is hopeless.

Foster teen Cara Richards is unloved. With nothing left and nowhere to go, she is determined to find peace, no matter the cost. But despite her intentions, she’s tossed into another foster family and this time, there’s no going back to who she used to be. To make matters worse, one of her five new foster brothers is a Jesus freak, and she refuses to believe that God actually cares.

Her world is thrown upside down in a way she never expects. Though she prides herself on a resilient heart, her mind is lost adrift among a sea of questions: Is death really the answer? Does God care about someone as unworthy as me? Can everyone truly be loved, no matter what?

My review: The beginning of this book was awesome! The middle was EVEN better! The ending……well……I’m hoping there is a sequel to this book as the ending was abrupt and too short. I loved the book…..don’t get me wrong and I would rate this book 4 1/2 stars as the writing was excellent and clear. The writer was great at keeping things, not at all confusing which made it awesome to read.

I read this book over a period of days as I didn’t have time to sit down and just read it through but I think it would take about 3ish hours to read if you don’t get distracted doing other things.

I would recommend this book for teens and up as it does have many references of suicide.

Andddd just what you all have been waiting for……………..there is a giveaway for these awesome books! So check out the link below and sign up!
