Awesome Blogger Award -Abby

Hey, guys (Abby here)! Rosy from Rosy’s Writings nominated me for the Awesome Blogger Award back in April and I’m doing it now, thanks Rosy!

The Rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Credit the creator (Maggie @ Dreaming of Guatemala)
  3. Answer the questions you were asked.
  4. Nominate at least five bloggers and inform them of their nomination.
  5. Give them ten new questions to answer

Questions from Rosy (her questions are in bold):

  1. Do you like playing freeze tag? Well, I actually like playing freeze tag…but I’ve only really played it at camp and boy was it scary haha. Imagine 100 people running after you and your group *shivers*
  2. What’s your favorite board game? I’d have to say Ticket to Ride but I love Monopoly too!
  3. Outside game? I don’t play many outside games though I really liked this game (I’m not sure what the name is) but where basically you had to run around in this circle while people who are “stuck” together tag you and then you’re stuck to them! It’s a blast!
  4. How many siblings do you have? For privacy reasons, I will answer 7 but a few of them are animals 🙂
  5. What year were you born? I can’t make this to easy for you guys, you’ll have to refer to THIS blog post and then do the math! If you can figure it out… you’re a genius!
  6. What’s your favorite part about blogging? Being able to post pictures, stories, and life stuff! I love knowing that I could be cheering someone up without knowing it!
  7. What are a few of your favorite blogs? Just so you guys know, I’ve posted 167 times so it’s tough picking a few favorite posts! Here are two of them: New Arrival/Interview & My Story
  8. Favorite song? My favorite song would have to be A Million Dreams.
  9. Do you like broccoli? I actually love broccoli! It’s really good with vinegar and a little garlic!
  10. What country would you most like to visit that you’ve never been to? That’s a tough one! I really like many countries so I think England would be fun or Ireland!

My nominations are:

Life of Heritage

Julia – Litaflame

A Storynerd’s Life

Soldier Girl Stories

An Unfinished Story

My 10 questions for you guys are:

  1. Coffee, tea, or neither?
  2. What’s your favorite color?
  3. What place in the world is your favorite?
  4. If animals could talk, what animal would be the most annoying?
  5. What is the highlight or most anticipated thing during your year?
  6. If you had enough money that you never needed to work again, what would you do with your time?
  7. Who has been the biggest example in your life? Why?
  8. Do you have a hobby?
  9. What’s your favorite dessert?
  10. What’s your favorite random quote?

Nature…ain’t it beautiful? -Abby

Hey guys, Abby here. This summer, I planted three rose plants…red, yellow, and pink long-stemmed bushes. So far the yellow and pink bushes bloomed the most and I was able to take 5 pictures of the blooming process!

Some more flower pictures:

And some random pictures I took today (note the quality is really low because of some upload problems):

Also, I’m getting my wisdom teeth out so wish me luck on Monday the 13th.

Mailbox project! -Abby

Hello guys, Abby here! Sorry for not posting a ton! My dad and I started this project a few weeks ago and actually just finished today! About 15 years ago my grandpa built a mailbox for the property we currently live on. That mailbox was falling over and needed a pick-me-up…

So I decided why not make a whole new mailbox with even a bigger mailbox for packages and stuff!

We then went out to our old mailbox and knocked it down…

We then went back and finished all the things on the mailbox and set it up!

Power tools used: screwdriver, saw, and chainsaw. All the materials we used were leftovers from other projects. The only cost was: screws/nails, paint, concrete, numbers, and the actual mailbox.

What do you guys think of it? Anything fun or interesting you noticed?

Happy Father’s Day! – Abby

Happy Father’s Day guys!

Abby here 🙂 I hope your day is going well! Today is the day we celebrate our fathers! Every year I always try to buy something fun for my dad! And this year he wanted…….a drill?! How is a drill exciting? Either way, my mom, siblings, and I pitched in and bought him his impact drill…

I know some families don’t get dad’s gifts and that’s totally alright! I just love doing it because it’s so much fun and I mean who doesn’t want to get a gift?!

Have an amazing day, y’all and stay safe! -Abby ❤

Charcoal Bentonite Clay Mask – Beka

Hey guys! Beka here with an exciting DIY face mask! I’m really looking forward to blogging here and I’m so excited to show you some fun ways to take care of your body!

Activated Charcoal has the ability to pull out toxins from your pores.

Bentonite Clay has the really fun ability to pull out heavy metals (and no I don’t mean steel and tin foil).

Tea Tree Oil is antifungal meaning it helps opens your pores and remove acne (acne is basically an infection on your face).

Raw Honey has the ability to maintain a soothing effect and helps remove oils from your face that aren’t supposed to be there.

Here is an example of what you’ll need:

F30DD396-C885-40EE-8E42-8C13F57D9AE5_1_201_a

Directions (DO NOT use a metal spoon when touching bentonite clay):

1 & 1/2 Tablespoon of Bentonite Clay

1 teaspoon Activated Charcoal

4 drops of Tea Tree Oil

A dash of water

1 & 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey/regular honey (we used about a spoonful)

Stir together Bentonite Clay and Activated Charcoal with a plastic or wooden spoon till mixed thoroughly. Mix in Tea Tree Oil and water till paste-like. Add honey and mix till combined (note if you use raw honey, it won’t like mixing together so it’ll take a bit of patience).

I have a beautiful model here and after having her clean her face with cold water, I got her to sit still and I put the charcoal mask on with my CLEAN hands avoiding her eyes, mouth, nose, and eyebrows (warning the mask will stain them so BEWARE)!

Let the mask sit for 15 minutes (or till it begins to feel dry & tightened). This also is a great way to get your siblings to be quiet because it quite literally glues their mouths shut (not permanently) lol. Get a hot washcloth and drape it over their face and let it sit till the washcloth is cold. Allow them to finish washing it off with warm water and pat it dry with a clean towel.

AFTER the Charcoal Mask: After using Bentonite Clay and Charcoal their face will be pretty dried out so I made an oil cleanse with some Almond Oil (just a dash) and had her massage it into her face for a minute. Follow up with a hot washcloth (use a new one) and allow it to cool once again. Then pat it dry with a new clean dry washcloth.

After the Oil Cleanse….

And that’s it! A quick easy way to help treat your skin from any scaring, oil/dry, and dirty pores. Remember not every skin type is the same so use what’s best for you! This has been something my family has found useful and creative (also makes you look like a panda, which is cool).

See you next time guys! Beka signing off ❤️

And the Winner is……

Hey guys! Wow!! I was so blessed with so many amazing entries for my Photos by Abby Rose Photography Contest!  I had 9 awesome people enter and a total of 42 photos entered. Let me tell you though…this was a very tough decision! All of the photos were SO good! You all have so much talent! And because picking a first-place winner was so hard I wanted to let you know who came in 2nd and 3rd place. I’m posting the photos I thought were the coolest for the 2nd and 3rd place winners 😀

3rd place…SCompere!! I thought their photos were really unique and fun! I’m definitely more of a creative photographer so I thought these were so cool!

2nd place…Maddy!!! Maddy’s photos were professional and had some pretty neat shots. It was super hard to decide because of the fun twist she has on her photos!

Annnd the 1st place winner is…ANNIE!!!!! Annie’s photos were cute and original and were so fun! This first photo was the real deal-breaker because of fun and creative yet super professional!

Christmas Play 2019

Hello everyone! So this past week I was in a production called ****! It was based on a Christmas story someone wrote and it was so fun to do it all together with such an amazing cast and crew! They were all amazing and the play was one of our best yet! It was a super hectic week overall with every day (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) I had to go in at 2:30 and didn’t get home till 9 or 10! Today was different as I had to go in at 10 and I got home at 5.

My part was one of the “oldest” characters in the play, which was super fun and kinda annoying to play as I got wrinkles and grey hair! I even got to be in a wheelchair (because of my broken leg), and the crew that got me on and off stage worked super well…minus the almost rolling off stage, getting my leg squished in a door, and a backdrop falling on me:

The crew member who set that up had to hurry so much that he didn’t get the backdrop set up the right way and before the lights came on it fell on top of me…after sitting there for what felt like forever a VERY kind audience member helped me out…either way, the crew member for the rest of the performances kindly stayed behind the backdrop to keep it from falling over.

I acted alongside so many amazing actors and actresses, one of whom got sick and wasn’t able to be in today’s last performance. Thankfully my sister L who had been in this play a few years ago was able to fill in. It was awesome seeing her step up to the role and quickly memorizing the few lines she needed to know!

Due to the fact that the photographer aka my sister was now in the play today meant that today’s performance didn’t have a photographer sooooo I stepped it. Right after I got off stage I grabbed the camera and started snapping…sure about 75% of those photos are blurry and the lighting might be off but it sure was fun to see the play from inside the theatre and not through the small window the actors get to look out of!

After it was over I think all of us actors and actresses felt relieved but also saddened by the fact that all the hard work we put into it is over. I think bowing tonight was filled with many sad thoughts as it was time to get back to “real life”. Some of the actors were leaving for college, others back to the sports they play at schools, others back to the normal everyday schedule…but I think we’re all ready to go back to face the fun and exciting life with maybe just a few more acting skills, facial expressions, and a few more new friends!

Here’s a fun video I made of all the makeup and hair transformations I went through this past week…annnnd let me tell ya, I’m sure not missing those wrinkles and grey hair anymore!

What did you guys think of today’s post? Have you ever acted in a play…what about a Church play? Let’s chat!
