Interview with AK!!

Welcome back, everyone! Today I’m here with an interview with Audrey Kate (AK)! I’m super excited about this interview so let’s get started! My questions are in bold!

1. Hi Audrey Kate…AK! Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself? (include a picture if you would like).
Hi there! Well, first off, my name is Audrey Kate, but once people get to know me, it’s not long before I’m called AK! I am a daughter of the King, the one true God. I have one brother, and a puppy, and a lawnmower (well, that’s actually my Dad’s) that I love.
I spend lots of time outdoors and when I’m not outside you can usually find me writing a letter, listening to Adventures in Odyssey or audio dramas, watercoloring, or brush lettering.
2. You write The Junebug Blog right? Please tell us a little bit about it! Why did you start it?! What does the name stand for?
Yes, I do! I started TheJunebugblog for a place where I can share my creative pursuits with others. I love to share tips and tricks, ideas and inspiration. The name actually came from my Mom, who, for many years (and still does every now and then), called my “Junebug” because I’m a June baby(:
3. What are three of your main hobbies?
Ooh, tough question! I would say some of my main ones are most artsy things, piano, and photography.
4. Can you go into detail about one of your hobbies above?!
Well, I will go with photography. I bought my first DSLR camera when I was 11, and I use it all the time. I love to take pictures of nature and peoples most.
5. I read your about page and it said you have a fluffy puppy!!!!! Can you tell us about her?!!! Maybe share a picture or 12?!
Haha, yes! Her name is Maisy (also known as Maisy Lou, Lou, Dogbert, and Dogwinkle. *cough*) We got her one month after we moved in our new house as a surprise from our parents. She is a Maltipoo, which is a mix of a Toy Poodle and a Maltese. She has changed a lot since her puppy days (pictures of two months old and recently)!
I’m just curious how you got all those different nicknames for her!
6. Do you play any musical instruments? Which would you say you like the most?
Yes, I do. I play piano, guitar, and ukulele. I’ve played piano for about 9 years, and Guitar and Uke for 2. I like piano the most, and I spend the most time on it now that my music is getting harder and harder, but I love ukulele a lot as well(:
7. You love photography right? Would you like to share something that inspires you when you do photography? Maybe share your favorite picture? (I know it’s hard to choose just one)!
Yes! I really do. Well, something that inspires me to take pictures is just nature. I love all the different angles with the sunlight you can get and many objects around to choose from. Ooh! My favorite picture… that is hard! Here’s one I really like: UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_22d2
8. What’s one of your favorite holidays?
I love Christmas and Easter.
9. What’s one thing that could help all of us, you’d like to share with us?
Jesus Christ loves and cares for you so much! He will forgive you for anything, and he will never, EVER turn you away from him!
10. Okay, final question (which is always the most fun)! If you were given a choice to buy: a barking tree frog, a mountain lion, or a cat that can’t meow it only hiccups which would you get?!
Ooh, interesting questions! A mountain lion! That would be neat (:
Thanks so much for doing this interview with me AK! I super enjoyed it!
You’re so welcome, AbbyRose! I enjoyed it (:
Thanks so much for stopping by guys! Just wanted to ask you to run over to AK’s blog The Junebug Blog and follow it to see some really awesome posts! See you guys soon!

Interview with Hannah!

Hey guys! Welcome back…today I have another interview with Hannah from A Need to Breathe
1. Welcome! Tell us about yourself, Hannah
Thanks for having me! I’m a New England native. I grew up half the time near the ocean, so I still LOVE it. I’m a canine enthusiast and I’m planning to become a service dog trainer. However, if I wasn’t going to do that, I’d probably get involved in youth ministry. I’m part of an amazing youth group, so it’s given me a heart for that mission field. 🙂
2. Can you tell us about your blog?
A Need to Breathe is my primary blog, and I use it as a platform to raise awareness for food allergies. I’m anaphylactic to wheat and have oral allergy syndrome for most citrus and cantaloupe. Food allergies aren’t talked about enough, and a lot of people are put in danger every day because of misinformation.
 3. What made you want to start A Need to Breathe?

My own experiences with severe food allergies were the main motivation. I also wanted to be able to reach out to other teens experiencing the incredible isolation caused by allergies.

4. You are training dogs, right? Can you tell us about that?

Gladly! 🙂 I’m working towards becoming a service dog trainer. In my state, there are virtually no trainers or organizations dedicated to service dogs. There’s a real need for them. It’s not just a growing niche, it’s a mission field. Service dogs can help with disabilities like PTSD, anxiety, chronic illness, seizures, diabetes, and even food allergies. We’re learning more about how dogs’ minds work every day. It’s helping trainers make better decisions and reach more people all the time. I’m so excited to be part of that.

5. What are 3 of your favorite hobbies (besides training dogs)?

Does hanging out with my youth group count as a hobby? Okay, writing is one, going for walks, and taking pictures/drawing.

6. Can you explain more about one of your hobbies named above?

We have tons of trails around our house. If you can avoid the bugs in the summertime, the woods are so beautiful to walk in. Plus our dogs really like going on adventures with us, and we have a cat that will literally walk a half a mile with us if she feels like it. 🙂

7. You were given a million dollars…what would you do with it?

Oh, I would give some of it away, to local animal shelters and national ministries. But there would be enough left over for a state-of-the-art swimming pool, a Hummer, and . . . a trip to Ireland.

8. Cool a Hummer! What’s a favorite verse you’d like to share?

Probably my all-time favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 3:12-18. My favorite part: “Therefore since we have such a hope, we are very bold.” It doesn’t get much more inspiring than that.

9. What is one thing you’d like to share with us?

I thought about this for a while before answering. I know we all have someone in our family or acquaintances who do not know the Lord. If you do, then Jesus tells us we have a responsibility to share the truth with them – gently, through our actions as much as our words. But I’d like to say this: As difficult as that might be, don’t shirk the responsibility. I lost a family member this year and she wasn’t saved. We who have accepted Christ’s salvation must remember: “. . . since we have such a hope . . .” we should be very bold. Thanks for letting me get that in there!

10. You have a choice to buy a turtle, a dove, or a hamster…which would you buy?

Easy! A turtle! I’ve always had this fascination with turtles. I should use some of that million dollars in question 7 and open a fresh-water aquarium. Can I get a vote on that??

Totally! Let me know when you build one and I’ll come by hehe!
Okay! Thanks for joining me Hannah! See all you guys soon!

Interview with Julia from LitAflame

1. Hello Julia! Thanks for joining us today! Can you tell us a bit about yourself (you could add a picture or something that people would recognize with you or your blog)?
Hey there Abby!  I’m a 16 year old lover of fantasies, cleanliness, and sarcasm with a rather concerning fondness of sharp things. I dwell in the reclusive Texas countryside with my parents and 6 siblings where I bemourn my ruthless nemesis: MATH, fume at my computer’s unresponsiveness whenever I attempt to do my college-work and bury myself between pages of words. My existence solely relies on the constant, never-ending mercy of my Savior Jesus Christ and I live to bring Him glory in all things.  I write about all things inspiring, from books to hobbies, every week over at LITAFLAME.BLOG
2. So you have a blog…can you tell us a bit about it and why you started it?
Banner (9).png
My blog is called “Lit Aflame” and I started it because I’m building an empire to take over the world (obviously).
See, I was but a young…lass… of last year, reading my books, happy, blissfully bored.  And then.  I FOUND A BLOG.
Piece of advice: If you are blissfully bored — don’t find a blog, it’ll ruin your blissful boredom.
After that it was like a domino effect – apparently, all you people link to each other like crazy.  Which means, yes, I blame all you bloggers out there for my current state of insanity.  XD  Because after reading like, a kazillion blog posts from a zillion different blogs – what did I do?  Decided to try out blogging of course.  Now, this wasn’t a sudden thing, I’d been wanting a place to talk about books – and the such – for quite some time.  But before I went out and actually spent money on the thing, I decided to make sure I actually liked blogging, to begin with.  So I whipped out a free Weebly blog (couldn’t think of an awesome name so I settled with “Lit Aflame”) and WHAM, I published my first blog post.
The rest is a very sad, sorry, typo-filled History.
Unfortunately, it didn’t take me long to get slammed with a life changing realization: I actually LIKED blogging!  As in, its something I’d like to do for the “rest of my life”. . . . . . And that’s when I became officially broke
…All this was to say that what began as a little side thing where I would do book reviews, devotionals, and any random thing that fell from the sky, grew – and soon demanded a theme and purpose.  And that purpose turned out to be “inspiring lives”.
So whether I’m talking about 4 Steps to Getting Excited About God’s Greatness Again or How to Create an Awesome Blog Tag I seek to bring glory to God and inspire the lives of those reading my posts.
You can check out my blog here and my Instagram here
3. What would you say three of your hobbies are?
…Does….procrastination count as a hobby?
Hm… Fine then.  I’d say three of my main hobbies are reading, writing, and raising rabbits.
4. Go into detail about one of your hobbies you named above!
For my tenth birthday, I got my very first rabbit (a pet I had been wanting for quite a long time).  From there I got MORE rabbits, and then – once we moved out to the country – I happily began a small business called “Bundles of Joy Rabbitry” where I breed and raise family-friendly Pedigreed Holland Lops.  As of right now, I have around 11 rabbits – three of which are from my Doe’s (a female rabbit) latest litter (they’re currently 15 weeks old).
^This is one of my Kits (aka baby rabbit) from a past litter^
If you’d like more info about my rabbitry you can visit my website at or my Instagram @BundlesOfJoyRabbitry
5. If you could do three unique things in your life what would they be?
Be a pilot, Act in a movie, and Investigate the rumors about the Loch Ness Monster.  ;P
6. What is a favorite Bible verse of yours?
Exodus 14:14
“The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
7. You write, right?! Can you tell us a little about what your writing or what you have written?
Yes!  I love writing!  The main genre I write in is Fantasy because with Fantasy there are just endless possibilities.  Right now I’m working on creating two different “universes” – a Children’s universe and a YA Universe.  Which means, all my “children’s books” will be set in the same “realm” and their stores will in one way or another connect — likewise, my YA books will all connect to form one main underlying story and will occur in the same solar system.  So basically, right now I’m doing some serious plotting, outlining, and world-structuring.  Because before I can begin actually writing I have to have everything already planned so that it all flows.
(…If any of that even makes sense  XD  Its really not the easiest thing to explain)
Anyway, yeah, this is rather an unfortunate predicament though – for a pantser like myself, XD
9. What’s something you’d like to tell the people reading this now?

Are you alive?

Alright fine, that answer should go without being said.  The thing is, everyone living has a life, how that life is lived. . . well, that is up to them.

How do YOU want to live your life?

Do you want to keep going in this rut of . . . nothingness?  OR do you want your life to have meaning? Want to make a difference in this world?

Do you want to live a life actually worth living?

Because after all, you’ve only got one shot on this earth – there are no restarts, and regrets are easy to come by.
What I’m saying here is, live for God – not yourself.  In the long run, the things you do for God are going to be the only things that matter.  It’s not going to matter how much money you saved up, how many books you published, or what kind of shoes you wore to the party – what’s going to matter is the people you’ve touched and the things you’ve done for Jesus.  All the success and fame in the world will not give you a meaningful life – only Jesus can fill that void.
So You want a life worth living?
Live for Jesus
Live for others
And live with eternity in mind.
10. Wow! Thanks so much for sharing the awesome news above! If you had to own either a tarantula, a mouse or a tyrannosaurus rex which would you get? (money no option)
Hands down, I’d choose a T-Rex….because REASONS.
Oh, come on!! You’re not going to be giving us your reasons???? Thanks so much for doing this interview! It was really fun to come up with questions!
Thank YOU Abby, for interviewing me!  I loved answering your questions!

Interview with Rosy

Hello and welcome back guys! I’m back with another interview…this time with Rosy! I’m having so much fun putting together these interviews…so try not to get to annoyed with so many interviews! Let’s get started my questions are in bold.

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Rosy Marr, and I live with my family of 11 in Cuauhtemoc Chihuahua, Mexico. (See if you can pronounce that!!) I am 15 years old, and some of the things I like are photography, reading, writing, cooking, blogging, singing, playing the piano and sewing. And more!

2. How you first got involved in with blogging?

Um… Well, I was 11, almost 12 when I started my blog, Rosy‘s Writings. I started blogging mainly to keep my friends in the US updated on our lives after we moved to Mexico.

My other blog, The Delightful Dueters, belongs to me and my sister Gracie.

3. You and your siblings sing right? Tell us a bit about that and what’s your favorite song you’ve posted…and hope to in the near future?

Yes, we do! 😀 Well, my sister Gracie and I have enjoyed singing together since, like, forever. Or, maybe more like since… we were 6 or 7.  And one of the things we loved to do ever since we were little is take videos of our songs. (Hence, we have a bunch of videos of Gracie and me as small children singing short choruses and pretty much just being really cute little kids….XD) Anyway, we recently (well, sort of recently!) created a blog, The Delightful Dueters, where we could post all of our more recent videos (And sometimes a blast from the past!). The goal of the blog is to honor God with music. 🙂
4. What would you say your favorite thing to do outside is?

Hmmm… Maybe take pictures? I love photography! I also love to play outdoor games like capture the flag. 🙂

5. What’s your favorite verse?

Hard question!!! It’s so hard to pick, but one I really love is Isaiah 41:10.

So Do Not Fear, For I Am With You; Do Not Be Dismayed, For I Am Your God. I Will Strengthen You And Help You; I Will Uphold You With My Righteous Right Hand

Pink Flowers6. A favorite photo you’ve taken? (if you can…send the photo and I’ll post it along with the answer).
Super hard!!! XD I’m not sure I have one favorite… Okay, I know I don’t, but here’s one.

7. Okay…if you were stranded on an Island and you only had grass, sand, and a coconut how would you build yourself a shelter?

Hmmm… I’m not even sure I could manage to pull that off… Yikes! Maybe I could cut the coconut shell in have and use that for a hat… But that’s still not much of a shelter. I guess I’d just probably die of heat stroke. If it were a hot island that is.

8. If you could do three unique things in your life…what would they be?

Let’s see… Go skydiving… Go to London… And… maybe go to the great wall of China? I don’t know, I haven’t thought about this much, so I just said the first three random things that popped into my mind, lol!

9. What would you say is the hardest part of blogging?

Maybe trying to post on a schedule. I tried doing that for a while, but gave up since we always managed to be busy I the day I was going to post! So, I gave up, and now my readers get to be surprised when I post. 🙂

10. What is one thing you’d like to tell the people reading this?

I’ve eaten Alligator meat before!

Okay, that’s not really what I wanted to say… I guess I’ll just say what’s been on my mind lately. Guys, Jesus has a plan for your life, so we need to live it for Him all the time! Life is short. We don’t know how long we’ll be here, so let’s live our lives for God!

Thanks for joining me guys! Again if you’d like to do an interview let me know in the comments! See you guys soon!

New Arrival/Interview!

Welcome back, guys! I hope and pray you all are having a great week…I know I am! Let’s just say some unexpected things happened recently! So from the pictures I’ve posted before you’ve noticed, we have an English Shepherd…well I’ve been wanting to get my own dog so I could learn how to train one. So I went online and found this great website that sells dogs! I found this adorable border collie/black lab 11-week old puppy named Winnie and it turns out we were able to get her! So meet Winnie! Isn’t she adorable???!!!

Alright! On to the interview I did with Kassie from Soldier Girl Stories! My questions are in bold!

  1. Hello Kassie! Welcome to Photos by Abby Rose! Can you tell us about yourself (optional: include a picture).

Hey AbbyRose! Thanks for having me. I’m an 18-year-old Army girl, indie author, homeschool graduate, and a would-be missionary medic—I have a soft spot for Middle Eastern Christians. I have a huge heart for the Army as well, as you can imagine! I’m training my retriever as a therapy dog and love working with animals.

  1. Can you tell us about your blog?!

Well, I started it back at the end of January and to quote my about page, I write about the Lord, the Army, my pets, and Texas!  It’s my outlet for sharing my writing, rambling about things dear to my heart, keeping my friends updated on my WIP, and connecting with like-minded writers. It makes me feel vulnerable whenever I share anything I’ve written, but I enjoy blogging way more than I ever thought I would!

  1. What made you want to start “Soldier Girl Stories“?

Haha…I didn’t want to until about two days before I did! My mom thought I should have a blog as a platform for my writing; I finally gave in and I’m so glad I did!

  1. What are 3 of your favorite hobbies?

Reading/writing, working with my dog and going for walks or runs.

  1. Can you tell us more about one of your hobbies above?

Thunder, my retriever, and I are working on being registered through PetPartners as a therapy dog team. Thunder’s only 18 months old and still pretty puppyish; we took the evaluation once and scored Not Ready, but the evaluator assured me he’s a natural and just needs time to grow. Once we are registered, we’ll be able to visit hospitals, nursing homes, schools, libraries, and even airports to visit people and basically just be a bright spot in their day. Retrievers are extremely perceptive and I’ve learned to listen to Thunder just as much as he’s learned to listen to me. One of my life dreams, when I was younger, was to train a working dog, and I’m really thankful for this opportunity.

  1. Do you have a favorite Bible Verse?

Luke 10:37—Jesus’ command at the end of the parable of the Good Samaritan to “Go and do thou likewise.” That’s my life verse and what I pray others see through my writing and my medical work.

  1. If you could do three unique things what would you do?

Barrel race in a rodeo and win; fly in a fighter jet; and fire a Howitzer or some other kind of field artillery weapon. And yes, I knew those off the top of my head!!

  1. Do you have a favorite book and movie?

War in the Wasteland by Douglas Bond…it’s impossible to pick a favorite book but that’s one of the top ones of all time, so it gets the honor of being my all-time favorite. As for movies, it’s tied almost equally between Return to the Hiding Place, Saints, and Soldiers: Airborne Creed, and Indivisible.

  1. What is your favorite season (winter, spring, summer, or fall) and could you go into detail about the reason you like it?

Spring!! One word: bluebonnets. Sure, for the rest of the year Texas might be dry and dead, but in the springtime, the Lone Star State explodes in wildflowers and it’s absolutely beautiful. Birds building nests, Easter sunrise services, the smell of cold rain on hot pavement, the temperature being that perfect balance between not too hot and not too cold, flowers blooming on trees before any leaves come out. There are things I love about every season, but if I had to pick one favorite, it’d be spring.

  1. Last question! If you had to own a turtle, a bat, or a fox which would you pick?

Probably a fox, because I love dogs and I’ve read about foxes being domesticated…and besides, they have the cutest faces! I’ve had both fish and amphibious frogs before and after that I just can’t imagine turtles being that exciting. And when I think of bats I picture the huge three-foot-wide fruit bats we always saw in Japan and I can’t begin to imagine how I would care for one!!

Thanks so much for joining me, Kassie!

Thanks for having me!! I had a ton of fun answering those.

Wasn’t that a fun interview!??!! Let me know in the comments what you think of Winnie! See you on Saturday!

Interview with Lydia’s Blog!

Hello all! And welcome back! Today I’m doing a fun interview with Lydia from Lydia’s Blog but I just have to ask you…is life feeling hectic? Guys, yesterday I thought it was Saturday! I mean come on……Saturday???  Anyways like I said before…if you’d like to do an interview let me know as I’m trying to do interviews more often! My questions are in bold! Let’s get started!

best 3.JPG

1. Hi Lydia! Welcome to Photos by Abby Rose! Would you tell us a little about yourself? (maybe provide a picture that you use on your blog of yourself)?

Thanks so much for interviewing me, Abby! I am a 17-year-old girl that loves baking, cooking, reading, eating, riding roller coasters, playing guitar, helping children’s ministries, and serving God! I am the 3rd born of seven children. I am homeschooled and finishing the 11th grade!

2. Can you tell us about the blog you have and what the name of it is?!

I started Lydia’s Blog because, for years, I really wanted to have my own blog to share with others about my life and other things. On my blog, you will find, recipes, biblical encouragement, and updates from my life!

3. What would 3 of your hobbies be?

My three hobbies would be baking, cooking, & playing guitar!

4. For question 4 I asked Lydia to name one of her hobbies and talk about it more!

Ever since I was a little girl, my mom would teach me how to cook. I loved helping her. Over time, I was found in the kitchen more often just cooking and baking away! Before you knew it, I started a little baking business and sold cookies and other treats for a while. Now, I am involved with the 4-H Healthy Lifestyles Competition. My team won our for my state in cooking at the state fair in the Fall, and the first weekend of August 2019, we’ll be cooking in the National Seafood Cook-off in New Orleans! I’m super excited!
5. Baking is so much fun! Okay, what is your favorite Bible verse?
My favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

6. Do you have a favorite hymn or song? What is it and can you provide a link to the song if it isn’t a well-known hymn?

My favorite song is The Love of God. I really love how Erin (Bates) Paine plays it here:

7. I really love that song! Erin Paine plays it VERY well! Do you have a favorite book of the Bible…one that helps you and brings you comfort?

My favorite book of the Bible would have to be Proverbs. It’s really chock full of everything you need for a good, Godly life.

8. What is one of your favorite books and what is your favorite movie?

My favorite book is one taken out of a series, but you can find that book here: My favorite movie is Sheffey and you can watch the movie here:

9. If you could do three unique things in your lifetime what would they be (money is no option)?

Three unique things that I would want to do in my life….. 1. Act in a Christian movie. 2. Learn to play the banjo. 3. Fly in an airplane.
10. Those are great unique things! If you had to own either a tiger, giraffe or a talking parrot…which would you choose?

I would rather own a giraffe…. but please don’t ask me “why?”! Now I want to ask you why??!!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to interview me. I really enjoyed it! No problem Lydia! I really enjoyed it!

So what about you guys? Feel like getting interviewed? Leave a comment and let me know! I’d love to interview more people here at Photos by Abby Rose!

Interview With a Very Special Person!

So while I try to come up with new blog content I’m back with another interview. This interview is a bit different from what I’ve done in the past but I think you’ll enjoy it! My questions are in bold!

nanny and pappy!

  1. You’re a grandma!?(hehe) That’s awesome! What are some of your favorite things to do with your grandkids? Yes, I have sweet grandchildren  and sweet great grandchildren. I would love seeing them more often but most of them live far away. When we grandkids come over she often feeds us amazing homemade food and then sits and watches Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons with us kids!

  1. What’s your favorite season Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring? I love the Spring. I love seeing everything come back fresh and new again.

  1. If you could choose to own a mouse, a bluebird, or a monkey which would you choose? And what would you do with it? (money is no option) I doubt I would want to own a mouse. 1. What is a story from your life you’d like to share? I have several stories to tell, but the one I thought was funny is when my sister and I were swimming and I told her my dentures fell out in the water when they were in my hand. 10. What’s something that you would like to share with the readers?! My dad’s words “The faster I go, the slower I get behind”. So, take your time, relax and enjoy life.

And that’s the end of the interview…now I have to tell you something about my grandmother…she is amazing! My Pappy and Nanny went through many troubles growing up and money was always tight. But they both worked together to provide for every one of their 4 kids. My grandmother may look small but she’s built of steel and worked almost 24 hours a day…cleaning, cooking, working, and mothering her kids. I couldn’t be more proud of her!

I’m planning on interviewing all my grandparents! Maybe you should try it!?
